Daughters of the King

The Order of the Daughters of the King (DOK) is a spiritual sisterhood of women dedicated to a life of Prayer, Service and Evangelism. We have made a commitment to Jesus as our Savior, and we follow Him as Lord of our lives. We are an Order for women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church, churches in communion with it, or churches in the Historic Episcopate. Today our membership includes women in the Anglican, Episcopal, Lutheran and Roman Catholic churches.
Daughters are young and old, rich and poor, beautiful and plain, community leaders and stay at home Moms, doctors and teachers, secretaries, executives and housewives. Some are clergy and lay persons. You need only a desire to become closer to God by learning to pray daily and with a purpose to find Jesus and be found by Him, speaking and listening to His Presence. At Nativity we are dedicated to assisting Mother Ede in pastoral care, visiting the sick, sending cards and letters and making phone calls to some of our homebound parishioners.
DOK meets once a month for fellowship and fun. We also conduct our business meeting, update our confidential prayer list and have lunch together. We meet on the third Thursday of each month at 11:30 am in the Parish library.
You can recognize a Daughter by the emblem they wear. It is a silver Greek Cross with the Latin words, Magnanimiter Crucem Sustine fHs (With heart, mind and spirit uphold and bear the cross for His sake).
