The Anglican Way
The Episcopal Church is the American branch of the Anglican Communion. As a worldwide family of churches, the Anglican Communion has more than 77 million members in 161 countries. Emerging out of the Reformation period, the Church of England sought a middle way between Roman Catholicism and Protestantism in the 16th century. This means we are both orthodox and evangelical.
The faith of Anglicans or Episcopalians is founded in Holy Scriptures, the traditions of the early apostolic Church and the Church Fathers. Our basic beliefs are:

- the Old and New Testaments contain "all things necessary for salvation"
- the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed as sufficient statements of Christian faith
- the two sacraments ordained by Christ himself, Holy Baptism and Holy Eucharist, as sure and certain means by which we receive grace"
- the historic episcopate or the continuity of the line of bishops since the time of Christ.
To be an Anglican or Episcopalian is to be on a journey of faith and to worship Almighty God in fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ who are dedicated to finding Him through prayer, study, and service.
